What I Believe

by David on February 23, 2010

Through my study of philosophy and endless self-reflection I’ve come to understand the importance of the core beliefs of a person and how they affect their actions and interpretations of certain information.

For this reason I felt it was worthy to share what I believe and where I’m coming from in terms of strength training (and fitness in general) to avoid mis-interpretation as much as possible.

  1. I believe the reason I’m skinny is because I always looked at fitness as a series of “work outs” rather than an integrated lifestyle that comes naturally and provides lasting fulfilment. Don’t train, form habits.
  2. I believe complexity causes the demise of anything and everything, especially training routines and dietary changes. Simplicity should always be upheld.
  3. I believe sustainability is an overlooked aspect training, and life in general. While ambition is motivating, taking on too much will only end in disappointment. Do only what you can sustain.

Because us humans are ever-changing entities I’ll be writing more about what I believe in the future, but this is where I am at this point in time.
