As a skinny guy it can be difficult to eat more, but it’s the only way you’re going to be able to put on weight. And although eating a ton of food will never be classed as “easy” for folks like us who naturally don’t want to eat much, there is a sense of clarity that is achieved by calculating how much you need to eat.
When you remove the veil of ambiguity your brain is able to get to work on solving the problem of not eating enough calories. You’ll still have to complete the grunt work, but striving towards a goal is far easier when you know what that goal is. But enough chit-chat, here’s the formula:
(Your Current Weight in Pounds) * 20 = X
X being the number of calories you need to consume each day. For example, right now I weigh a measly 124 pounds, so my equation would be:
124 * 20 = 2480
Which means I have to consume at least 2480 calories per day to gain weight. In many ways that’s a scary number, but by breaking it down into individual meals and pieces of food you’ll soon overcome that overwhelm.
