3 Must Reads for All Ectomorphs

by David on December 26, 2009

There are few articles on the web that I consider must reads, seeing as there is plenty of average quality writing and information floating around. But there are 3 articles that sit patiently in Evernote (a information-storing tool) and that I like to revisit every now and then.

  1. Which of The 3 Body Types Are You?
Since you’re reading this article you probably already know you’re the ectomorph body type but all the same this article provides a great overview about what makes an ectomorph unique, brief but useful training tactics and some advice on both diet and recuperation. For those unsure of whether a certain exercise or approach is suitable for them can use this article as a benchmark.
  2. From Geek to Freak: How I Gained 34 lbs. of Muscle in 4 Weeks
I am a fan of the author of this article, Tim Ferriss. His book The 4-Hour Workweek dramatically changed the direction I was taking in life, but all the same he has been known to twist words and bend ethics, which do make his claims in this article somewhat dubious. But even so, the principles he lists are where the true value is, and it’s just an neat example in general.
  3. Exercises for Ectomorphs Revisited
Not a very long, or detailed article, but even so this is a great resource for ectomorphs just getting started and feeling unsure about what exercises they should be doing. Read through this and get started. It’s also where I begun to understand the importance of a pull up.
